Rachel is the newest addition to the San Diego Polyamory Family.
rachel polyamory san diego prideRachel Rickards was originally from South Florida where she was raised with 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 4 parents. She got her degree in Event Management, Recreation and Leisure Services from Florida State. She returned to Antioch University to pursue her master’s degree in Sex Therapy  before she “came out” and was shocked when her new LGBT community didn’t fully accept her bisexuality, because she wanted to have both a boyfriend and a girlfriend at the same time.  She learned about Polyamory one year before meeting and falling in love with Michael, his wife and Pod.

25 Things you probably didn’t know about Rachel Rickards

  1. One of my favorite hobbies and forms of exercise is Roller-Skating. Roller Girl has become somewhat of my alter-ego.
  2. When I was 7 years old, my brother accidentally stabbed me in the face with a knife. I showed off my stitches to my 1st grade class at show-n-tell.
  3. I consider myself a Mortal Kombat: Puzzle Kombat master.
  4. My dream library would be filled with books of naked bodies, preferably all women.
  5. I worked the Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel for four years in a row.
  6. My worst habit is being late.
  7.  One of the most transformational experiences in my life was living in Italy and traveling Europe for a summer.
  8. I can organize anything.
  9. A comfortable bed is one of the few things I believe every person should splurge on.
  10. Growing up my nickname was Pickle.
  11. Sometimes, I wish I lived at a Music Festival all year long.
  12. My only rule about food is that I eat whatever my body craves.
  13. If I could design an amusement park ride, it would be a Ferris wheel with each individual car having a different music/nightlife experience inside.
  14. Being naked and having sex on camera was one of the most awkward experiences of my life.
  15. I aspire to empower women, in a big way.
  16. My favorite childhood memory is of playing ‘doctor’ with my girl friends.
  17. The first time I ever got fingered was on the beach, which resulted in my high school nickname, “Sand Dune.”
  18. If I am being extremely quiet, it usually means I am in process, feel insecure or totally pissed off.
  19. I get a rush out of smiling at strangers.
  20. One of my new favorite daily routines is  jogging on the beach in the mornings with my boyfriend and his wife.
  21. My favorite season is summer. Because it’s the best one.
  22. I midwifed 3 litters of boxer puppies.
  23. My first concert ever was Wu-Tang Clan & Coolio.
  24. In high school I was on the varsity cheerleading squad and girls flag football team.
  25. I have been skydiving twice, once over the Swiss Alps.
