Tonight’s full moon (April 2022) is s special because it is happening alongside three major holidays. Jews, Christians, and Muslims will be gathering with family and friends this weekend for Passover, Easter, and Ramadan. No matter what your religion, this is an extra potent time for prayer and ritual.
Let’s pray together for world peace!
Personally, I’ll be observing these holidays while sitting in a powerful shamanic death ceremony in Northern California, after a spectacular journey around mama Hawaii. But wherever you are on the planet., or whatever your spiritual inclination, I hope you can tune in and appreciate these powerful frequencies.
LIBRA FULL MOON:
This ‘Pink Moon’ is considered a Super Moon, because it is closer to the Earth and appears bigger and brighter. It is also the first full moon of the astrological year. (The lunar calendar is roughly 11 days shorter than the solar year.) At the time of any full moon, the sun and moon are always opposite to one another in the zodiac. This month, the sun is in Aries and the moon is in Libra. The full moon affects everyone differently, but here are some general themes to reflect on: Relationships, Personal Power & Rebirth. This is a time to focus on “we” instead of “me.” and experience a powerful resurrection of one’s self through Spirit!
Following is an overview of the significance of each of the three Abrahamic holidays. I hope you join me by tapping into the collective currents of these three major holidays: Liberation, resurrection, and revelation!
PASSOVER–Liberation
(Sunset Friday, April 15-23)
Passover celebrates the exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. It’s also called Pesach which came from the paschal lamb that was offered in the Temple in Jerusalem at Seder, the ritual meal. It’s traditionally celebrated in Israel among many Jews in the Diaspora, for a whole week. It is celebrated with a feast that includes unleavened bread or matzoh.
EASTER–Resurrection
(April 15 is good Friday-Sunday17.)
Easter or Resurrection Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It starts with the last supper continuing on through Good Friday and the crucifixion and burial of Jesus Christ into Holy Saturday and prayers and easter egg hunts for the kids on Easter Sunday. It is preceded by Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
RAMADAN–Revelation
(Runs April 2-May1)
To commemorate Muhammad’s first revelation, Ramadan ( رَمَضَان ) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. The annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
