My best friend recently asked me if I was in a cult, and it inspired me to share this video from my heart… 
Because this is a mystery school, we work with energies that are not only indescribable but incomprehensible. We offer deep embodiment practices that activate high levels of Love, Power, and Freedom. This work affects every aspect of our lives, our health, our work, our community, and all of our relationships!
And, on the topic of my name change…
For those who knew me as Kamala, I prefer being called KamalaDevi. If you like, you can call me KD.
When I was given my spiritual name by my yoga teacher, 18 years ago, I was told that KamalaDevi means “A goddess who worships the divine with her body.” It took me a while to grow into that, and it was initially more comfortable to simply go by Kamala, which means “lotus flower.”
But my soul has since blossomed into this form.
I also changed my last name to McClure several years ago when Michael McClure and I renewed our vows. We transformed our marriage from mere ashes into the unimaginably mystical life-partnership that we have now. (We are still open, tantric and kinky, we’re just not bitter or fighting anymore.) We are both in an exciting chapter of our lives and I am proud that taking the family name reflects our transformation.
Sometimes, when I introduce myself, and someone complains about how long my name is, I share that for me, the difference between Kamala and KamalaDevi is analogous to the contrast between Michael and Michaelangelo.
